The Two Towers; a commentary on Tolkien's Sequel

Honestly wasn't that fazed about Boromir's death I mean it's his own damn fault and Tolkien didn't really make me care for him so I was kind of happy when he wasn't there anymore to molest Frodo. Seriously. I wasn't even that sad after Gandalf supposedly died. I don't care about him after two books. I mean, I do like reading about their adventures and finding out more about the world. But if Legolas or Gimli or Gandalf or frodo died right now, I wouldn't bat an eye.

Am the only one that finds Saruman and Sauron a bit too similar? I mean they're both evil so it doesn't really matter i guess but every time one of them is mentioned I hesitate for just a second and Im like waittttt is that Dumbledore or the one with the eye?

Tree peopleee I love tree people they are just so relatable like they just can't come to the point talking five minutes and the only thing they said was hey this Lil guy is Mary and this Lil guy is Pippin. It's just so funny to me to imagine Mary and Pippin being carried around by a giant tree idk why and they have such a cute friendship

Legolas ain't that great sorry it's just the movies and Orlando blood with long hair I mean don't get me wrong Orlando Bloom with long hair is like my sexuality but as I'm reading the book I feel like Legolas ist overrated I mean he has no strong motivation like him and Gimli are on the same level for me but no one talks about Gimli and yeah he is good with a bow but like hes an elf all elves can do that and his entire personality is just being an elf??? Idk

Sooo many boring poem parts I'm sorry I just space out when I'm reading parts when someone is singing or reciting or whatever you call it

Aragorn is the best character hands down. He knows what he's doing he knows he's the man he the king and he is beautifullll period.

Not a lot of girl power in these books eh? Except for Galadriel but like???

Okay Gandalf is such a drama queen like he loves to just come back from the dead and scare everyone to death and then be like Hmmm I guess my name IS Gandalf huh I'm so Gucci Right Now but you have the permission to call me Gandalf still also im like Saruman but like way better than Saruman like Saruman if he didn't suck so much okay byeee I gotta skip I just battled a giant evil slimy fireball.

I love Pippin and Mary just chilling at the gate not even looking at Gimli and Legolas and Aragorn and being all proper and stuff and their friends are just like WE THOT YOURE DEAD WE LOOKED FOR YOU FOR DAYS AND RAN DAY AND NIGHT AND YOURE JUST HERE LAYING AROUND AND SMOKING WEED?

Also love how Pippin annoys Gandalf and they have this really funny dynamic Gandalf Always gets mad at pipin and yells at him but secretly he loves him and only wants the best for him it's so nice reminds me of me and my late grandma.

Oh also I have a bad feeling about Eowyn like not that she's evil or anything it's just that Aragorn is engaged to Arwen and I feel like Eowyn might have a crush on Aragorn and I don't want her to be rejected and I don't want Aragorn to be conflicted but whatever. I still like Eowyn cuz we need some girl power in lotr.

Also I felt kind of bad for Smeagul in book four like poor creature he was in so much pain and it's like he has a split personality and he's always talking to himself and like there are two different people in his head and it's sad.

Okay never mind I mean I do still kind of feel bad for Smeagul but that trick with the spider lady was disgustang

Also can we stop the whole I thought he was dead but it turns out he is not dead I mean they did it with Gandalf and I wasn't falling for it and they did it with Frodo and it was even less believable.

Also why are giant spider monsters living in the dark corners so popular In fantasy not to be a Harry Potter nerd but like reminded me of the spider monsters from the forbidden Forrest.

Mad respect for Frodo my man's is going very strong I actually really like him and his compassion as well as his good manners and being able to stay composed and stuff like props to you Frodo.

I live for Sam and Frodo like not as a couple but their friendship like??? This book is just filled with beautiful friendships

Especially that scene where Frodo puts his head on Sam's lap so Sam can protect him while he's sleeping but Sam falls asleep as well like ugh and then Gollum sees them and he's like ew

Faramir is pretty decent tbh also I got really scared when Sam put on the ring because u thought he was going to turn evil or something

Also im sorry but it just seems unrealistic to me that they weren't caught earlier I mean Sauron has so many servants and ringwraiths and spies and whatever I think one of them at least would have noticed them

The second part of the book was legit so bleak and depressing the conversation Sam and Frodo had about there being tales of their journey and Frodo smiling in the middle of frickin Mordor is so healing like it just made me smile that their mental health is still at least a little bit okay

I still think it would have been better if Legolas carried Frodo in a baby carrier thingie and he just used his superhuman speed to get the ring to Mordor without actually having to carry it would have been a lot faster I mean everyone looooves Legolas so much anyways then why doesn't he use his superhuman abilities hm?
